' Coming together is a beginning, keeping together is progress, working together is success '
In 2013 our first home was opened with a clear vision, to create a home that offered children the opportunity to receive outstanding care whilst providing a containing and nurturing home that could help them come to terms with their early life trauma and return to a family setting. In 2015 we opened our second home and we continued with the same vision.
Both of our homes are rated Good in their Ofsted Inspection.
We provide a safe and nurturing home for children where they can receive specialist care and therapy, allowing them the opportunity to reach their potential and thrive.
We believe that every child, no matter what their experiences or background, has the right to the best opportunities and outcomes in all areas of their lives.
A strong safeguarding culture is evident within our homes and White Orchid Care have a duty to ensure that the children are listened to, respected and involved in both the development of the home and decisions made about their care. All carers are encouraged to build positive relationships with children in the home and develop a culture of openness and trust that encourages them to be able to tell someone if they have concerns or worries. Our children must feel safe and be safe and carers support children to be aware of and manage their own safety to an age appropriate level both within and outside of the home.
Oak Fostering was formed with the aim that all children deserve a family where they experience permanence, a sense of belonging and trust that this will remain their home into adulthood, regardless of anything they might do.
We recruit and train our specialist foster carers specifically to care for children who have experienced trauma and who are not able to remain living with their families. Our carers are prepared fully for the challenges these children will present and are offered extensive support packages to help them through the difficulties they may face.
Unlike other fostering agencies the children we match and place with our carers are children we have cared for and know inside and out. We have laughed and cried with them, we have dealt with their challenges; we have built memories with them and supported them on their journey. This enables us to match placements in a much more informed way. Our carers will be given extensive histories, knowledge of triggers and strategies as well as first hand examples of the child’s behaviours, personality and interests.
